Robin Gibb’s family members including his brother Barry, have tried singing to him in an effort to bring him out of his coma, his wife has said.

In an exclusive interview with The Impartial Reporter Robin’s wife Dwina said the couple’s children Robin John, Spencer and Melissa have been playing music to their father to “try and bring him back to us.” She also told the newspaper “His brother Barry, his wife Linda and son Stephen came over from America. Barry was singing to him. Thousands of people are saying prayers every day.”

A source close to Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb, told The Sun newspaper “There were flickers of life from Robin. His eyes moved and there was an attempt at speech.”

The British-born singer has been in hospital in London, since he lost consciousness last week, after contracting pneumonia in his fight against cancer.

Gibb’s family has been keeping vigil at his bedside at a hospital in Chelsea, west London.

Anthony Ciccone, brother of pop star Madonna, is homeless and is living on the bitter cold streets of Traverse City, Michigan, according to a report from The Michigan Messenger.

Ciccone told The Michigan Messenger that he’s been among the city’s homeless for a year and a half since losing a job at his father’s vineyard and winery in Suttons Bay.

“My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time,” he said. “You think I haven’t answered this kind of question a bazillion times — why my sister is a multibazillionarie, and I’m homeless on the street?” “Never say never,” he said. “This could happen to anybody.”

Ciccone also said “I don’t have any income, I’ve got to go collect bottles and cans, do odd jobs.”

Last winter, Ciccone suffered from frostbite on his feet.

Australian rockers AC/DC are to become the latest band to release their own wine range. The Rolling Stones, Whitesnake, KISS and Motorhead have also had their names attached to wines.

The rockers have teamed up with Australian winery Warburn Estate for the release of AC/DC The Wine.

They are launching several bottled varieties named after some of their biggest hits, including “Highway to Hell” cabernet sauvignon (a dry red), “Back In Black” shiraz (a dry red), “Hells Bells” sauvignon blanc (a dry white) and “You Shook Me All Night Long” muscat (a sweet white).

AC/DC The Wine, made from grapes sourced from the Barossa and Coonawarra regions, goes on sale in Australia on August 18. “We wanted to make sure that AC/DC’s home fan base could have easy access to their rock icons’ wines,” said Steve Donohue, general manager of buying for the Woolworths Liquor Group.

Justin Timberlake’s never-heard-before song called “Take You Down” has been leaked online yesterday (December 30).

“Take You Down” is a drum-heavy track about a guy flirting with the girl he meets out at the club. Although the song has spread throughout the blogosphere, there is no official word whether it is intended for release by Timberlake or it is just a demo. “Take You Down”, supposedly produced by The Neptunes.

Dolly Parton will be honored with a lifetime achievement Grammy, it has been announced.

Country music legend Dolly Parton will receive the award, marking her contribution to music, alongside British actress and singer Julie Andrews and punk band The Ramones.

Roy Haynes, Juilliard String Quartet, The Kingston Trio, and George Beverly Shea will also receive awards.

Parton is one of the most-successful female artists in the history of the country music, with 25 number-one singles, and a record 41 top-10 country albums. She is known for beautiful songs such as “Coat of Many Colors”, “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You”.

Parton has won a Grammy before, taking home the 1978 award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her “Here You Come Again” album. She has received seven Grammy Awards and a total of 45 Grammy Award nominations over her career, spanning over nearly five decades.

“It is a great honor to recognize and celebrate such a distinguished and dynamic group of honorees who have been the creators of such timeless art,” said Neil Portnow, president of The Recording Academy. “These influential performers and brilliant innovators have been of great inspiration to our culture and industry. Their legendary work has left a lasting impression and will continue to influence generations to come.”

Sotheby’s announced that it is to auction the original handwritten lyrics to Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are a-Changin’” next month in New York City.

“The Times They Are a-Changin’” has been called an “anthem for the protest movement.” It was released as the title track of his 1964 album “The Times They Are a-Changin’”. Dylan told Cameron Crowe “I wanted to write a big song, with short concise verses that piled up on each other in a hypnotic way. The civil rights movement and the folk music movement were pretty close for a while and allied together at that time.”

Also Dylan told Crowe that his song “was influenced of course by the Irish and Scottish ballads.” The BBC reported that Dylan admitted that “The Times They Are a-Changin’” was originally a Scottish folk tune. “It’s probably from an old Scottish folk song. That’s the folk tradition. You use what’s handed down,” Dylan said.

The autograph manuscript, which is signed by Bob Dylan, is written in pencil on a sheet of unruled three-hole notebook paper (8 1/2 x 11 in.). It is expected to sell for $200,000 to $300,000 on December 10.

Legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones has been announced for next year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

John Giddings, the Festival promoter, said “What can I say that hasn’t been said about this man and his voice? We are so proud that he has chosen to play our Festival next summer. It will be incredible.”

On the Saturday night of the event Tom Jones will appear on the festival’s second stage, the Big Top.

Kings of Leon will headline the Festival on Friday 10th June, and this will be their only UK major festival performance next year. Pulp and Foo Fighters will headline the Saturday, while Brit indie rockers Kasabian will close the festival on the Main Stage on Sunday 12th.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 which will be the festival’s 10th anniversary, will be held at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 will run from June 10 to 12.

Swift spent a lot of time with Mayer back in 2009 as they collaborated on his song “Half of My Heart” for his last album, “Battle Studies”, which sparked rumours that they were dating.

Yahoo’s Chris Willman reports that Swift, herself, recently told him that her songs aren’t hard to interpret. “They’re all made very clear,” Swift told him. “Every single song is like a roadmap to what that relationship stood for, with little markers that maybe everyone won’t know, but there are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints. And every single song is like that. Everyone will know, so I don’t really have to send out emails on this one.”

Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated album, “Speak Now”, will be released on October 25th, it contains 14 tracks, all written solely by Taylor, who co-produced the project with Nathan Chapman.

Anni-Frid Lyngstad, better known simply as Frida, has said that she and her former bandmate, Agnetha Faltskog, have discussed the possibility of singing together again.

The female stars of the Swedish supergroup have not performed together since ABBA parted ways in 1983.

“It would be great to do something with Agnetha,” the Daily Express quoted Frida, 65, as saying. “If we did, it would be hard to avoid all the pressure because of Abba. It could never be low-key.”

Frida and Agnetha have talked about a reunion and how they would approach it; “We talk about it.” added Frida.

ABBA is one of the most successful bands of all times, known for their smash hits like “Take a Chance on Me”, “Mamma Mia”, “Dancing Queen”, “The Winner Takes It All”, and “Waterloo”. They gained international popularity employing catchy song hooks, simple lyrics, sound effects (reverb, phasing) and a Wall of Sound achieved by overdubbing the voices of Frida and Agnetha in multiple harmonies.

The band consisted of Frida, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Faltskog. During the band’s existence, Agnetha and Bjorn were a married couple, as were Frida and Benny, although both couples later divorced. Male members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus have ruled out a reunion of ABBA.

ABBA was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March this year. They were represented by the former married couple Frida and Benny who accepted the award from the Bee Gees’ Barry and Robin Gibb.
