Carrie Underwood, who turned 33 today, recently stopped by the Bobby Bones radio show and covered Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” once again but it was really special this time.
With simple acoustic guitar accompaniment backing her, Carrie starts the song with a spiritual lightness to her voice, wringing as much drama and emotion as she could show out of Dolly’s classic hit “I Will Always Love You,” a song popularized by Whitney Houston’s cover for the 1992 film The Bodyguard, and it topped the Billboard charts for a then-record 14 weeks.
A fan outside the studio waited to give her a cake while she was leaving a “BBC Breakfast” interview. Happy birthday, Carrie!
