Demi Lovato has made it clear that she’s extremely proud of her upcoming album “Confident,” as it represents her being at her happiest and healthiest state.
In a new interview for the cover story on Complex Demi expressed her desire to score a Grammy nomination for her upcoming fifth studio album “Confident,” due out October 16. On her song “Stone Cold” off “Confident,” Demi says “I want the Grammy committee to hear [that song] so that one day they can see that—I know that I’m capable of getting there. I just want people to see it finally. When I say getting there, I don’t mean winning one. I just want to be nominated for one. You can’t go higher than the Grammys in the music industry. That was a huge goal for this album. I watched the Grammy nominations last year and I was like, “I want to be there so bad.” It really gave me that kick in the ass to make music that was worthy of it. This is a song that I feel like is worthy of notification.”
Demi debuted her new track “Stone Cold” during her September 29 concert at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. She begins to introduce the song and appeared very nervous. She catches herself and says, “whatever, fuck it! I’m confident,” adding, “you guys are the first to hear it. It’s called ‘Stone Cold.’”
