July 21, 2015
Miley Cyrus just announced that she will host this year’s 2015 MTV Video Music Awards!
The pop star took to Twitter to share the big news with her 20.8 million followers on Monday.
Wearing a green alien suit, Miley shared two photos beside each other with her hold a different sign in each picture. One sign read, “MTV won’t let me perform,” referring to her infamous and unforgettable performance two years back with Robin Thicke, while the other said “so I’m hosting this year’s VMAs.”
“F**k yeah VMAs!!!!!” Miley captioned the photos.

Miley is returning to her controversial roots following her 2013’s VMAs appearance, when she delivered an unforgettable performance of “We Can’t Stop” and then twerked all over Robin Thicke during “Blurred Lines.”
Last year at the show Miley won the Video of the Year award for Wrecking Ball and invited a young homeless man named Jesse Helt – who was also her date for the evening – on stage to accept the award on her behalf. Later that year he was jailed for violating his probation.
The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 30 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. They will air live on MTV.
