Madonna Named Forbes’ Highest Paid Musician of 2013

Madonna & Lady GagaThe Material Girl was the highest-paid musician of 2013, generating $125 million according to Forbes magazine. Thanks to her MDNA Tour as well as income from her Material Girl clothing line and Truth or Dare fragrance.

The runner-up position went to Lady Gaga with $80 million in the last year. The “Born This Way” singer took in $160 million from touring, which had to be cut short due to a hip injury. Forbes states that if Gaga had been able to finish out her tour, she could have possibly pulled in $200 million.

Other artists who made the list include Justin Bieber who came in at number 6 with $58 million and Taylor Swift just behind at number 7 with $55 million. Beyoncé also made the top 25 with earnings of $53 million, more than her spouse Jay-Z who came in at number 18 with $42 million.

Forbes’ estimates were based on total earnings from June 2012 to June 2013, including the amount of money each artist and band made from record sales, touring, endorsements, merchandise sales and other ventures.
