Fall Out Boy Announce New Album and Tour After Three-Year Break

February 4, 2013

Fall Out Boy (Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy Hurley)Fall Out Boy have ended a three-year break and announced that they are to release a new album. The band will be hitting the road this spring to promote their sixth album “Save Rock and Roll”, which will be available worldwide on May 6-7. The album’s first single “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” has already been released to iTunes.

“when we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music.” the band said in a message on their website. “its why we started fall out boy in the first place. this isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. the future of fall out boy starts now. save rock and roll…”

During the break from the band, lead singer Patrick Stump released a solo album “Soul Punk”, bassist Pete Wentz launched a project called Black Cards, and guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley teamed up with members of Every Time I Die and Anthrax to form a heavy metal super-group, The Damned Things.

Fall Out Boy will kick off the Save Rock and Roll Tour on May 14 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before wrapping up June 30 in Nashville. “We’re back,” Hurley tweeted today “now chill out.”
