August 16, 2011

Australian rockers AC/DC are to become the latest band to release their own wine range. The Rolling Stones, Whitesnake, KISS and Motorhead have also had their names attached to wines.

The rockers have teamed up with Australian winery Warburn Estate for the release of AC/DC The Wine.

They are launching several bottled varieties named after some of their biggest hits, including “Highway to Hell” cabernet sauvignon (a dry red), “Back In Black” shiraz (a dry red), “Hells Bells” sauvignon blanc (a dry white) and “You Shook Me All Night Long” muscat (a sweet white).AC/DC wine

AC/DC The Wine, made from grapes sourced from the Barossa and Coonawarra regions, goes on sale in Australia on August 18. “We wanted to make sure that AC/DC’s home fan base could have easy access to their rock icons’ wines,” said Steve Donohue, general manager of buying for the Woolworths Liquor Group.
