Clash Legends Paul Simonon and Mick Jones Record Together for First Time in 30 Years

January 25, 2010

Former Clash band members Paul Simonon and Mick Jones reunited to record together for the first time in almost 30 years.

The former Clash stars made a guest appearance on the new Gorillaz album. They worked on the title track of the third Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach after being approached by the band’s creator, Damon Albarn.

Guitarist Jones told Q magazine “We didn’t argue as much as we used to. We were wrapped up on our track in a day, no nonsense, and then went down the pub for a pint.”

This is the first time they have recorded together in the studio since they recorded together The Clash’s album Combat Rock in 1981.
