Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child’ Tops List of Best Guitar Riffs

Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child (Slight Return)’ has been voted as the best guitar riff of all time in an online poll.

Musicians’ website MusicRadar.com asked its readers to vote for their favourite riff. With more than 5,000 readers took part in the poll, the site has been counting down The Top 50 Guitar Riffs Of All Time.

The track which appears on the 1968 album ‘Electric Ladyland’, received 14 percent of the votes cast and beat Guns N’Roses hit ‘Sweet Child O’Mine’ to the top with Led Zeppelin’s ‘A Whole Lotta Love’ winning the bronze medal.

MusicRadar.com’s editor-in-chief Mike Goldsmith said “Jimi Hendrix is still the undisputed heavyweight champion of rock guitar.”
