The 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Nominees

Jimmy CliffThe nominations for 2010 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum were announced today. The twelve nominees will be sent to more than 500 voters, and five artists will ultimately be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 25th Annual Induction Ceremony on March 15, 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guidelines, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination to be qualified for induction. This year’s nominees had to release their first single no later than 1984. Criteria include the influence and significance of the artists’ contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll.

The nominees are:

  2. The Chantels
  3. Jimmy Cliff
  4. Genesis
  5. The Hollies
  6. KISS
  7. LL Cool J
  8. Darlene Love
  9. Laura Nyro
  10. Red Hot Chili Peppers
  11. The Stooges
  12. Donna Summer
